Saturday 21st - Sardanes

For some reason we both slept really late this morning – finally woke a shade before 9:30am. It had been quite a long day yesterday but hardly exhausting. Market was extra busy this morning with the 55th Sardanes Festival on this weekend. Not a festival we are wildly interested in, as we find the music a little raucous and repetitive, but it is nice having the town bright and busy.

After lunch we couldn’t stand the sight of the last bits of fully prepped but unpainted wall just sitting there looking back at us. So into our painting gear and finished the final bit of ceiling (in the entry) and put the first finish coat on the walls. It looks so much brighter and better. There’s no unpainted plaster left in the whole apartment now.

Sardanes

We watched the parade of sardanes dance troupes after dinner. It is clearly something done by amateurs, as the dancing could be best described as enthusiastic, though a few troupes were well-rehearsed. They were all heading down to the bull-ring for a competition.
