There is no better way to wake up than to the smell of freshly baked bread wafting in the windows. We snuggled down till around 10am when forced up by hunger, though only so far as to have breakfast in bed, the makings being only one metre from our heads! There was a light rain outside, the first in ages, which is a welcome relief from the heat of the last few weeks. We struggled out to our local boulangerie to buy our lunchtime bread and then to our café for a coffee. Life is tough - we have to keep kicking ourselves that we are actually here doing this.
The rain stopped and started all day, but never looked clear enough to go out and have a good long walk. The tennis on the box was good.
