Up for a run before it got too hot.
It is so rewarding to finally be finishing off in the
bathroom and putting things in in their final resting place. Got the shelf unit
sorted, put in some tiles above the basin and then hung another small shelf, toilet
roll holder, hand-towel holder, dressing gown hook and mirror. I’m sure this all
sounds very ho-hum but after so much time slogging with sanding, painting,
working in confined spaces and forever hunting for fixings, tools, power cords
and all manner of other things in our chaos, it is really nice to see some things
going to their final locations and leaving nice little spaces behind them in
the main room where they have been gathering dust for weeks or months. Not only
that, but it all looks darn good! Our changes and renovations are working out
better than we had even imagined.
We spent a bit of time at the bank today trying to work out
how much money we are allowed to withdraw (after finding we couldn’t get enough
cash out for the builder), how often, and how we add a name to be able to transfer
money. Had a new staff member there – so helpful and got it all sorted easily in
the end. Our mate Samir popped his head in to make sure we were getting sorted
OK.
A little surprised that the electrical devis hasn’t turned up – we really thought he meant it this time.
Maybe tomorrow? Can’t see how he can start work on Monday if we haven’t sighted
and accepted his quote by then.
We have family arriving very soon so the pressure is on to
have our separate bedroom up and functioning. More important is to have all the
plastering finished and dust cleared away. Of course, it all depends on the
electrician. We will work through the weekend to make sure we can get the store finished and a load of stuff out of the living room.
