First day in ages with cloud much of the day – so decided
not to go swimming but worked on the apartment instead. We haven’t mentioned
that we have washed all sofa and armchair covers and cushion covers – a relay
effort taking at least three days as there are an awful lot of covers. Finally
they don’t puff up white dust when you slap them, and we have finished generating more plaster dust.

A full day’s work. Skirting now all in and almost all
painted. All touch up painting up to date. Scrubbed the window sills inside the shutters.
Set up the curtain wire in the bedroom and fitted the wardrobe curtains. It looks
rather different – very pleasing. We finished at 5.30pm. Maybe two more full
days might see everything completed that we hope to get done this year. No
coffee out today – we were too busy.
