Tuesday 14th - Swim

Swim day again today at the local pool. A local woman thought Karen was a bit rude, but it was only the swim cap preventing her hearing a bonjour. All sorted – ce n’est pas grave. The woman also asked me how old Karen was – because she was motoring up and down the pool without a stop, like an energiser battery. A Kiwi wouldn’t ask that, but no problem if you are French I guess. After lunch I needed a grandpa nap for a few minutes to recharge while Karen attended to a mass of emails.

In the “cool” of the evening we went out to M. Bricolage to collect the final bag of mortar for the bathroom. The scooter gauge said it was 35 degrees – and this was at 6pm. Possibly our hottest day yet. Into Intermarché for some essentials for the apero we are having for our neighbours on Thursday and back home, dripping with sweat.
