Our last market unfortunately. We did our shop, then sat at
Bar Pablo trying to etch the scene into our memories to see us through the 10
months before we experience it again. There’s really nothing in Nelson at all
like it. There are probably some 80-100 tables out, and on a Saturday morning
they are all in use, with a mix of tourists, local and expats. We know all our
waiters pretty well. Hervé has just finished after many years, Bruno and
Anthony who shake our hands in greeting each time, Christophe and Michel, and
Hervé’s replacement, Maxime.
We headed off to the beach at 3pm for the afternoon, taking our new Decathlon umbrella. Had a very pleasant time. The water was warm, and we were surprised to find quite a lot of attractive fish just off the shore. There are always plenty of French people out snorkelling. Our umbrella was a bit tricky as there was a decent sea breeze, just as well as it was a sweltering day - the scooter's display said 35-36 degrees on the way home.
