After a good run in the morning, we began a full day’s work
to see how close we can get to finishing – here’s the schedule…
þ Last skirting filled and final
coated
þ All painting touch-ups done
þ Paint scraped from internal window,
all windows polished
þ Paint scraped off all hardware, e.g.
door latches and handles
þ Fireplace and mantelpiece polished
þ Storeroom cleaned and reorganised
þ Kitchen units levelled and kickboard
installed
þ Benchtop fixed and finishing strips
installed
þ All paints and equipment cleaned, K’s
painting clothes consigned to bin
þ All rubbish/paint cans etc bagged and
disposed of
We are very pleased. The only thing really left is the bathroom
which needs the shower sealed, some filling on the floor and wall, and that’s
about it. It’s been a much longer haul than we ever imagined.
We’ve booked an AirBNB room in Paris for 6 days on our way out – should
be good. We last spent a couple of days there in 1982, as we don’t really count
the 4 hours at Ikea earlier this year!
