Holiday today and it feels different. We think it may be the
different noise in the church square below us – the rebuilding on the church is
off today, and there are no street cleaners or rubbish collections. We were
about to go on a run when Suzy & Tim popped up on Skype, so we had a good
talk with them. Nice to find that the internet routed through my Android phone is
satisfactory. Technology is great when it works. It is such a relief to have
the internet live at home, especially with having a lot of work on at the
moment. We also managed to catch Alastair on Skype.
It was virtually noon by
the time we got offline so flagged our planned run and went into town for a
baguette instead. We had heard a brass band playing and the locals all in voice
for the Marseillaise but it was all over by the time we got to the main street.
It is May Day here so is a holiday.
After a leisurely morning J got back into his work stuff
and I spent the afternoon painting. I chucked it in at 5pm and went on a run –
first since we have been here. Just 30min around about but really enjoyed it.
Even got out the weight set we bought when we first arrived and hadn’t yet had
an airing.
