Breakfast in bed, then a lazy morning and a coffee at Bar
Pablo in the sun. Temperatures are slowly warming up, though not yet to shorts
and T-shirt levels. After lunch we had a good housekeeping session. With so
little spare space it’s hard to keep it tidy, and twice as important.
We intend to head to IKEA in Montpellier this week so spent
a fair part of the afternoon going through what we need to pick up. It’s so far
away that we don’t want to have to go back, so we need to get a good list
sorted before we get there.
We have been exceptionally brave and gone on another run (J’s
3rd, my 4th). We headed off down a small side road heading
out of town and ended up doing a lovely half hour circuit, past cultivated
gardens, trees, spacious houses and expansive views. It was a lovely up and
down route, much of it shaded which will come in handy later on in summer.
Had a nice surprise visit from Valerie and Lorcan, our
exchange hosts and friends from 2009. They had arrived in Laroque-des-Alberes
for the summer just a few days ago and with their friends Joe and Mary were
attending a concert in the church. Lovely to see them again, our first proper
visitors in our new home here. They have invited us out to their place in the
weekend – it will be the first proper venture on our little scooter!
